COMMON QUESTIONS

What is Delta 8?

As the reform of the hemp industry has progressed, so has the knowledge and new technologies. There are hundreds of compounds found in the hemp plants. Most people know of CBD, and some people know of the less popular varieties such as CBC and CBG. As the industry grows, so does the language and the science

There are cannabidiols, affectionately called CBD, and then there are tetrahydrocannabinols. Delta-8 is a tetrahydrocannabinol, but unlike its stronger cousin, Delta-8 is created from hemp. TheDelta 8 distillate is a highly potent form of hemp-derived concentrate that is refined through a distillation processDr. Grinspoon from Harvard Medical School, who also sits on the board of advocates for the hemp industry, remains positive about the possibilities. Its unique properties give way to a variety of uses.

Is Delta 8 like CBD?

CBD doesn’t bind as easily to the endocannabinoid system, making it non-intoxicating. Delta-8 has more in common to THC (delta-9) than CBD, both in its chemical structure. Delta-8 THC binds to the body’s endocannabinoid system like delta-9 THC.

Delta-8 has effects similar to THC (delta-9), but despite what some people say, Delta-8 is not “THC Light”. The effects CAN be similar but there are also some differences. Some people enjoy Delta-8 more because they insist it does not produce as much anxiety or paranoia. Others say when taking D-8, although they get a body buzz, the mind remains sharp.

Is Delta 8 legal?

Because D8 is hemp-derived, it falls under the same class of products as CBD, in most cases. Under the legislation of the 2018 Farm Bill, Delta-8 is legal as the products contain less than 0.3% Delta-9. Unlike Delta-9, Delta-8 itself is not Federally Scheduled scheduled. Because of misunderstanding on this product or until more research can be concluded, some states do now have individual restrictions specifically on Delta-8.We are not able to sell states who have specifically banned it.

Will I fail a drug if I use Delta 8?

When most people think of cannabis they think of delta-9 THC (marijuana). Not all drug tests can tell the difference between delta-9 THC and delta-8 THC due to their close chemical structure — so using delta-8 THC can potentially result in a false positive test for delta-9 THC, even if they’ve never consumed THC-rich cannabis.

What does Delta 8 do?

The full effects of what Delta-8 can do is still being realized, but results so far are promising. The FDA has not yet evaluated Delta-8 for efficacy or safety. Because of this, we must post warning that Delta-8 should not be used to treat, cure, or lessen symptoms of any medical or mental health conditions.

The National Cancer Institute has noted that Delta-8 has “antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective qualities.” Many people who use Delta-8 describe it as, “calming without paranoia”. Delta-8 has many of the benefits of Delta-9. Some users comment that after taking Delta 8 they feel relaxed, their body tingles. Others indicate that Delta-8 makes them sleepy.. almost in a dream state. Some people who have lost of appetite claim that Delta-8 makes them feel hungry. Others have said that Delta-8 helps them to sleep. Again, these are based on user experiences. We are not allowed, nor are we claiming, that Delta 8 is a cure to any of your issues.

How do I dose Delta 8?

In general, if you are use to taking THC (Delta-9) edibles, delta-8 edibles are usually measures and dosed at more than twice the strength of THC gummies.

The standard for Delta-8 edibles is 25mg. Our gummie bites and cookies are 25mg. This standard is for someone who understands the effects of Delta-8 and have taken it before. We suggest new users take have a gummie (12.5mg) and then wait for two hours before attempting more. The Delta-8 needs time to work through your body, more so if you have just had a large meal. Studies have shown that fat can contribute to a stronger feeling. Some say that they 25mg cookies seem stronger.

The consumption method affects how quickly you feel those effects. If you’re vaping delta-8 for example, you should feel the effects within ten minutes or less; if taking edibles, wait at least an hour or two before taking more
The drink mix (Hell YA) uses water-soluble Delta-8. This means that the Delta-8 does not need to work through your body and you should feel effects in as little as 30 minutes.

As with any cannabis product however, the chemical profile of the cannabis, your own body’s chemistry, your tolerance level, and the amount you take all affect how you will feel. Take a lighter dose until you understand your tolerence.

Can I give Delta 8 to my child or pet?

Do not give Delta 8 products to your children or pets. There have not been enough research or studies on Delta 8 for children or pets.

How do I know if the Delta 8 is good quality?

Delta 8 is a newer product; it’s very important you get your Delta 8 from a reliable source. When shopping for delta-8 products, check the credentials of the company. Are they a legal company? Do they have a website? Do they post lab results? Does the Delta 8 have a full panel test? A full panel test has not only the potency but also checks for harmful pesticides, chemicals, and other substances. You should also check to see if your product has a QR code and/or batch number that links to a test.

At Sconi Boys, we do full panel test on all of our Delta 8 distillate. This is the distillate used to make most of the products we have. Also, each individual product contains a batch code and links to the lab test.

No matter if you buy from Sconi Boys or another vendor, do your research!

Is the Delta 8 used a Sativa or an Indica?

This is a trick question. The answer is neither.

Most products are made with Delta 8 distillate -a highly potent form of hemp-derived concentrate. Delta-8 THC does occur in hemp naturally, but the amount of it is simply too low to produce the benefits and effects for which delta 8 is known for. Therefor, different methods must be used to make Delta 8 distillate. Most delta 8 products use a CBD isolate conversion. Which basically means CBD Isolate is adjusted chemically to become almost pure Delta 8 THC distillate.

Basically, when you get Delta 8 you are getting just a very small portion of the plant. The properties that make a Sativa or Indica have been taken out of the plant. In some products, cannabis or other natural terpenes are then added back to the Delta 8. When terpenes combine with each other and then Delta 8 it creates what is called the “Entourage” effects. This adding back of specific terpenes can cause a Indica or Sativa feel. When looking at a product, you want to be aware of the products terpene profile. Asking about Sativa or Indica won’t get you many answers.

Sometimes however, Delta 8 does contain more than just the distillate. Products like our Jam Entourage is not made from Delta 8 Distillate. Tbut rather from the cold pressed plant that preserves the natural terpenes of the plant. Delta 8 is then added to the concentrate and contains CBDA, CBD, CBC, CBN, and CBG.Perfect for sleep and relaxation

Do you use cannabis or botanical terpenes?

We use a combo of cannabis and other natural botanical terpenes.

Botanical and cannabis-derived terpenes both have unique and important roles within the plant and they both have their own therapeutic effects.

Cannabis-derived terpenes retain more of the marijuana taste, while botanical terpenes offer a variety of natural flavors and aromas that can be different from cannabis. Botanical terpenes have many of the same benefits as cannabis terpenes and they are just as effective. For example, a myrcene molecule isolated from mango is the same as a myrcene molecule isolated from the cannabis plant. Exactly the same molecule. Botanical-derived terpenes also activate the entourage effect in a similar way as cannabis-derived terpenes, and they also help the cannabinoids work better after consumption.

The terpenes Sconi Boys uses are specially formulated to highlight some cannabis strains’ terpenes, while adding unique and delicious flavors with botanical terpenes.

All of the terpenes Sconi Boys uses are natural- found in nature, isolated, and then formulated to create a unique profile blend. Our original Sconi Boys are for those who prefer native terpenes that keep the taste true to the cannabis plant, while our Sconi Girl flavors are for those who prefer more of a sweet or candy taste.
