THCa Flower is legit!
We have several strains available, and our THCa Flower is phenomenal. London Pound Cake is one of the real crowd pleasers with some of the highest percentages of THC we have seen on legit THCA Hemp Flower. The smell is sweet, very much like a coffee cake (probably where the name came from!) and the buds are dense and covered in crystals.
THCa Flower is Legal!
For those of us in dry states, THCA flower was almost too good to be true. The first time we saw it, we said “No thanks! not yet anyway!” but after doing some research and speaking with a couple attorneys, the opinion is that THCa Flower IS in fact legal, because it falls under the federal definition of hemp from the DEAs interim ruling. This can and likely will change with the new farm bill coming out in 2023, but for now, enjoy it!
What is THCa Flower
This is an important question, and it is good you are reading this because there is a ton of bogus THCA flower flooding the country. In order for THCa Flower to stay under the legal limits of less than .03% of dry weight, the conditions that it’s grown and cured in are critical. Not only is it difficult to grow compliant THCA flower, it’s very expensive and out of the reach of most small time farmers. In order to keep the THCA levels high and prevent them from converting into THC, the flower must be grown, harvested and cured in very specific conditions. Specifically, as cold as the plant can stand. Each plant has its own ideal environment to produce the best and most effective medicine, so trying to grow and flower strains in temperatures under 60 degrees F is very difficult. The curing process, which typically takes a while, can be done in 24 hours using a cryo-cure system, which is where the expenses come in. Cryo-Curing systems start at about $50k and go up from there, this is not scalable for many farms.
So the lesson is BEWARE of THCA flower from unknown sources. We have seen quite a bit of traditional marijuana being passed off as THCA hemp, and not only is that unethical, it’s potentially illegal. Make sure that your source has recent tests and a good track record for providing a quality product.
