What Is THC-O and How Will it Make me Feel?
Most people who use cannabis will know what CBD and marijuana (Delta-9) feel like. A few less know about Delta-8. THC-O is one of the new kids on the block and is quickly gaining in popularity. Its unique features may surprise even long-time users of cannabis.
What Is THC-O Acetate?
THC-O Acetate, THC-O for short (not THC0), is an acetylated form of THC. THC-O is a prodrug – meaning research has indicated that molecules of THC-O remain inactive until it breaks down in the body through a metabolic process.
Some companies will say that THC-O is 3x stronger than THC. While this may be true for Marijuana THC-O, this is not the case for Hemp THC-O. However, many users still experience some slight psychoactive effects. This includes increased visuals and sound.
What are the effects of THC-O Acetate?
Many cannabis users claim that THC-O is stronger than Delta-8, with feelings more like a light version of traditional marijuana. As in most things, each user will experience different effects. In general, THC-O users claim that effects come on strong in about 30 minutes and diminish, on average in four or five hours. Feelings have been described as follows:
- Deep Relaxation
- Happiness
- Restfulness
- Light Psychedelic Effects
- Soothing
How much THC-O should be taken per dose?
If you are new to cannabinoids, we suggest you start slow. A good starting dose is between 10-25mg. Start slow. Wait at least 45 minutes before re-dosing. THC-O reacts differently for each user. Even if you generally have a high tolerance for cannabis products, each product and cannabinoids are different. You should always proceed with caution. We suggest you talk to a medical professional before use of any new substance.
Will I test positive for THC when I am using THC-O?
The short answer is yes. THC-O is a form of THC. A common drug test cannot tell the difference between different kinds of THC. If you are worried about failing a drug test, we suggest you leave THC-O alone.
